POS staff¶
Settings › Selling › POS staff lists the people who take payments on your Badger POS tills: what each may do, which stores they work at, and the phones and tablets they use. See Mobile POS for how the tills work.
Admins can use the till without being listed here. Add the people who only take payments.
Adding someone¶
Choose Add POS staff and enter the email address or login of someone with an account on your shop. If they don't have one, ask them to register first.
To sign in to the POS app they also need the POS agent role, which you give in Customers. Until they have it, the list shows No POS role and their page says they can't sign in yet.
What they may do¶
- Quick payments: type an amount and take a card, without choosing products.
- Build orders: scan or pick products into a basket and take payment for it.
- Adjust stock: change their store's stock from the till after a count, a delivery or a breakage. Each change is recorded with who made it, the store, the item, the amount and the reason.
- Check in event tickets: scan event tickets at the door. It needs no payment access, so door staff can have just this. The old POS agents page now opens here.
- Largest sale: a limit in pounds of their own, on top of the shop's limit for in-person sales. Leave it blank for none.
Turn off Can use the till (or choose Stop them using the till from the menu) to stop someone taking payments without losing their settings.
Where they work¶
Tick the stores they may sell at. Only locations that are active, sell in person and have a Stripe Terminal location are offered. The POS app lets them pick one of these after they sign in; a till can't take payments, list sales or look up stock anywhere else.
Staff set up before stores existed keep working at their own Stripe location, shown under the list of stores. A one-off platform update gave each of them the matching location.
Devices¶
Each phone or tablet that signs in to the POS app registers itself, and shows here with its name, platform, store and when it was last seen. The name comes from the phone, so you may want to rename it (for example to "Front till"): a name you give is kept when the device next registers.
